MetaFrazo Label Curator
Runs on AtlassianOverview and how it works.
A label-health audit for Jira Cloud that runs entirely inside your Atlassian cloud, with no external server and zero data egress.
What it is
MetaFrazo Label Curator is a label-health audit for Jira Cloud. It scans every label in your instance and surfaces the mess: duplicates, casing and separator variants, and orphaned or rarely-used labels. It then lets you preview exactly what a cleanup would change before anything happens. It Runs on Atlassian, so all processing and storage stay inside your Atlassian cloud, with no external server and zero data egress.
The launch edition is a read-only audit (detect, preview, and export). Governed one-click cleanup and a compliance-grade audit ledger arrive with the Advanced edition.
How it works
- Install Label Curator from the Atlassian Marketplace, then open it from Apps → MetaFrazo Label Curator (a Jira global page; there is also a per-project page).
- Run scan. The scan runs as you, the signed-in user, so it sees exactly the projects you can, including team-managed ones, and never surfaces labels from issues you can’t access. On the first run Jira shows a one-time consent prompt; that’s expected.
- Review the Overview: a dashboard of total labels, usage, and findings grouped by severity (High, Medium, Low).
- Work the Findings. Each finding is a detected label problem with the evidence and a suggested fix:
- Near-duplicate clusters: the same tag spelled inconsistently, including typos (for example
frontend,Front-end,FrontEnd,fronend). - Casing and separator variants: the same token differing only in case or separators (for example
back-endversusBackEnd). - Orphan and rarely-used labels: single-use tags that add noise without carrying signal.
- Near-duplicate clusters: the same tag spelled inconsistently, including typos (for example
- Preview a cleanup. On any finding, click Preview to see exactly which issues a merge, rename, or delete would touch. The preview is a dry-run, so it writes nothing to Jira.
- Browse the Inventory.Search, sort, and filter every label by usage, the projects and project type (team- or company-managed) it spans, and whether it’s already in a finding.
- Export to CSV. Download the full inventory or the findings for reporting.
Runs on Atlassian: private by design
Everything runs inside your Atlassian cloud on Atlassian Forge. There is no external server and no data leaves Atlassian (zero egress). Where Label Curator must record who acted, it stores only Atlassian account IDs, never names or email addresses, and the read-only launch edition stores no personal data at all.
Full terms, privacy, security, and the Data Processing Addendum are on the Legal page.
